Found in the small coastal town of Still Bay 4 hours drive on the N2 from Cape Town on the shores of the Indian Ocean this 100 year old rustic stone fisherman’s cottage can sleep 4 adults and 4 children comfortably.
Inside, the cottage features three bedrooms, small TV room with bed and couch, open plan sitting room/dining room, one bathroom with outside shower and loo. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, double oven, two plate gas stove for cooking and an outside ‘braai’: a complete array of cooking implements, utensils, and glassware for dining; and a dishwasher for cleaning up when you’re done (tomorrow morning is fine; you’re on holiday).
To keep you connected with the outside world, we offer a 50cm TV for those times when the stunning sunsets and quiet evenings are not enough.
Outside you’ll find the stunning Goukou river, swimming in saline channels - very safe for children at the end of the garden, bird watching, fishing, skiing, boating and a quick walk down the river bank to the mouth and Lappies Baai [Bay] beach , The riverside of the cottage is surrounded by walls that maintain your privacy while allowing spectacular sunsets and river views.
A short walk brings you to the beaches on the eastern side of the town with 30km walks at low tide with stunning lagoon bays to swim in shallow turquoise waters. A short drive takes you to several restaurants, supermarkets and interesting antique shops, coffee shops, seaside walks or takes advantage of the hiking, biking and horseback riding opportunities in the surrounding mountains.
Still Bay, an easy drive from Cape Town, is the perfect spot for you to relax and experience the natural things in life. Lyn’s View is the perfect place to stay awhile.
